There can be solar tax credits and incentives available at the federal, state and local levels. The calculator above will show you the value of all incentives your home is eligible for.
Florida is the Sunshine State, so it makes sense that it's the perfect place for homeowners to get solar panels and save money.
Thanks to the federal solar tax credit, buying solar is cheaper than it's ever been here. There are even some battery backup incentives popping up in parts of the state. Plus, your savings will last at least 25 years because solar panel warranties guarantee production long into the future.
Read on to discover how much home solar incentives can save you in Florida!
Learn what solar incentives are available to Florida homeowners

Find out how much these incentives and/or Florida solar tax credits will reduce your cost to go solar and add batteries
The federal solar investment tax credit will have the biggest impact on the cost you will face to go solar in Florida
If you install your photovoltaic system before the end of 2032, the federal tax credit is 30% of the cost of your solar panel system. This is 30% off the entire cost of the system including equipment, labor, and permitting.
Example: If your solar energy system costs $20,000, your federal solar tax credit would be $20,000 x 30% = $6,000.
The federal tax credit falls to 26% starting in 2033.
With net metering in some states, you get full retail rate credit for the amount of electricity you send back into the grid with your solar panels.
Net metering requires your utility to monitor how much energy your solar power system produces and how much energy you actually consume and make sure you get credit for the surplus.
Florida’s Public Service Commission “PSC” set specific standards for net metering back in 2008. Assuming you’re a customer of an investor-owned utility (most of us), any net excess generation, AKA surplus energy, is carried forward as a credit at the full retail rate to your next bill for up to 12 months. At the end of a 12-month billing period, the utility pays you for any remaining excess energy at an avoided-cost rate.
Not only is that just about the perfect net metering law, but it also looks like you won’t have any problems getting on the grid. Unlike most states, Florida has no set cap on how many solar systems it will allow to hook up to the grid. Your small residential system also lacks any of the possible hurdles and red tape that we see in other states.
Florida has no statewide solar rebate program; the few patchwork fill-ins from individual utility companies have closed. You may have heard of the statewide rebate program; Florida’s Solar Energy Systems Incentive Program is sadly no longer taking new applicants.
However, battery incentives are showing up around the state. In Jacksonville, for example, you can get up to $4,000 when you install a battery. The program is currently full, but the utility could reallocate funds next year.
Thank goodness Florida also realizes that homes with solar are worth more than homes without, and the state has been willing to exempt that value from additional property taxes. Your home’s value increases as much as $20 for every dollar of electricity you save in a year. Not paying taxes on that value is a sweet deal.
Home solar panel systems are also free from state sales tax, saving you 6% or more right off the bat.

Everyone with who I have dealt with has been very friendly as well as great communication especially on how the solar works. I would highly recommend them. And also recommend to do your home work on all the other companies who don't even hold there own electrical license. This company has gone above and beyond to take care of me. Thank you lunex

scheduling more than met my expectations for a quick fix. Technician was on time, courteous, knowledgeable, and most important very efficient. His work was completed in less time than I expected, and everything is up and running as it was before the hurricane. Can’t say enough about the response and service that I received from solar source

I couldn’t be happier with my recent home solar panel installation! From start to finish, the entire process was seamless and professional. The installation team was punctual, knowledgeable, and incredibly efficient. They took the time to explain everything and answered all my questions with patience and clarity. The quality of the solar panels is great, and I’ve already noticed a significant reduction in my energy bills. It’s amazing to see how much I’m saving while also contributing to a greener planet. The customer service was exceptional, and they followed up to ensure everything was working perfectly. I highly recommend Solar Energy World to anyone considering solar energy. Their expertise and dedication to customer satisfaction are truly commendable. My special appreciation to Scott Grams! who explained the whole process in detail. I have shopped around and got estimates from other places but I liked the way Scott explained all the details. I was not surprised by anything during or after the installation. He also made sure that I receive 5 star customer service during and after the process. Thank you for making my home more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly!

PES INSTALLED my system 2 weeks ago my gateway stopped reporting data. I called PES and they said it was uploading data. After a week I called the manufacturer and the connected in to the gateway and said it was cutting out and not working properly and I should contact the installer. They were quick to ask me to pay up front for the service call and I would be contacted to schedule. 4 days later nobody called, so I called and of course I got voicemail. Terrible customer support.

Today Mr. Brown and Mr. Alex visited our home to asses a water leak in one of the rail mounts. Mr. Brown and Mr. Alex performed a visual inspection in the attic and the roof. They assessed the leak area as well as the rest of the solar panels rails for signs of leakages none were found. They executed the proper repairs on the affected area. Assuring us that the leak problem was fixed. We can not ask for better service than the one performed by Mr. Michael and Mr. Alex. They sure do stand by their product and provided an excellent service. I highly recommend Mr. Brown, Solar Ray Inc., his General Manager Mr. Alex and employees to take care of your solar system future needs Thank you Mr. Brown, thank you Mr. Alex. Your expertise, knowledge and services are second to none.

Brian was a great sales person and sold me solar panels and I was supposed to be getting a 500.00 check from EHS after the install. I was told it was mailed however never received. I spoke to Brian and the Hurricane flooded the office but the check would be coming. Well that is several weeks ago now and still no check and Brian does not respond to text messages or emails. I am sure he got his commission , at least that is what it feels like. Communication is very lacking. Very disappointed. This is the second time I have purchased solar panels for a home, and no longer giving EHS the referral. Please honor your end of the sale.
